Around the Community

Del Ray Halloween Parade

One of Del Ray’s favorite traditions, the 21st Annual Del Ray Halloween Parade will be held on Sunday, October 29th at 2pm. Several of the Credit Union staff will be helping the community with preparations, set up, and decorating. After the preparations are complete, we will get to enjoy the parade along with seeing who gets the awards for Best Pet Costume, Best Decorated Business, Best Decorated Home, and Best Decorated Stroller. It always makes for a festive time and we have participated in this community event for the past several years.

Del Ray Turkey Trot

A Thanksgiving morning tradition, the 41st annual Alexandria Turkey Trot is the Mid-Atlantic's premiere Turkey Trot. With nearly 6,000 runners, and some of the fastest elite runners on the east coast, the Turkey Trot is a great way to start your Thanksgiving morning. As always dogs and strollers are welcome and allotted their own starting area. Employees are volunteering their time to help pass out race bibs and t-shirts the day before the race. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the coming years.

Wreaths Across America

Signature FCU staff is starting a new tradition this year with Wreaths Across America. On December 16, 2017, Wreaths Across America will be at Arlington National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. Many of the Signature FCU staff will meet at the Credit Union and travel together to Arlington National Cemetery to participate in the placing of the wreaths. We hope to continue this tradition every year.
