2021 Election of Officials

The Annual Election of Officials process is underway and each Signature FCU member has an equal vote in the annual credit union election.

In August, 2021, two positions on the Board of Directors and one position on the Credit Committee will expire. Each position has a three-year term. To obtain an application for nomination, please send a request to Nominating Committee, Signature Federal Credit Union, PO Box 148, Alexandria, Virginia 22313-0148, email cumail@signaturefcu.org or call (800) 336.0284.  Any member in good standing is encouraged to apply for nomination. The application must be completed and returned by March 1, 2021. The Nominating Committee will meet in March to nominate candidates for the election.

Additional nominations may be made by petition. Each petition must be signed by one percent of the members. The total membership of Signature Federal Credit Union on December 31, 2020 was 24,413, requiring a minimum of 244 signatures on a petition to nominate additional candidates. Signatures will be checked against membership lists, and petitions with insufficient valid signatures will not be eligible to make a nomination. The election will not be conducted by ballot when there is only one nominee for each position to be filled. Each nominee by petition shall submit a statement of qualifications and biographical data with the petition, accompanied by a signed certificate from the nominee stating that they are agreeable to nomination and will serve if elected to office.

The closing date for receiving nominations by petition is June 24, 2021, at our office in Alexandria, Virginia where they will be received by the Secretary of the Board of Directors.

Q: Can members vote online?
A: Yes, you will need your Election Code and Voting PIN to vote online. Members can go to https://vote.election-america.com/SFCU/

Q: What do I need to vote online?
A: You will need your Election Code and Voting PIN. That information can be found in the election envelope you received via mail or email (if we have your email address on file).

Q: Where can I get my Election Code and Voting PIN?
A: The Election Code and Voting PIN will be sent out via mail and email (if we have your email on file) in June.

Q: I have more than one account, why did I only get one ballot?
A: One ballot per Social Security number. If two accounts have the same SSN, we send the ballot to the original account (account that was opened first).

Q: I have a Personal Account and Business Account, but I only got 1 ballot.
A:If the business account has an EIN (that is separate from a personal SSN), you will get two ballots. If not, only one ballot per SSN/EIN.

Q: How many positions are open in 2021’s election?
A: Two (2) positions on the Board of Directors and one (1) position on the Credit Committee.
