Signature FCU membership starts with just a $5 deposit into a business savings account. 

And that’s it – no membership fees, no minimum balances. Dividends start to accrue at an average daily balance of $100. Always deposit with peace of mind because Signature FCU share accounts are federally insured by NCUA up to $250,000.

Requirements for Organizational accounts:

  • Articles of Organization (if applicable)
  • EIN# on IRS letterhead
  • By-laws (if applicable)
  • Photos of driver’s licenses for all authorized officers
  • Certificate or proof of bond insurance
  • For Visa® card requests, you must complete page 8 of the organizational account application
  • Signature FCU organizational account application, which must be signed by all authorized officers

Fidelity Bonds

Fidelity bonds are often referred to as “honestly insurance”. They cover losses due to any dishonest act of an organizational officer. Fidelity bonds cover a position title such as President or Secretary/Treasurer, not an individual. The losses may be monetary, merchandise or any other property, real or personal.

If your organization currently does not have bond insurance, it is available through Brown and Brown Insurance Agency of VA, Inc.

Overdraft Services

Signature FCU offers several services to help you avoid overdrafts, returned checks, and declined transactions.

  • Set up your savings as an overdraft for your checking account - There is no fee for this option. Needed funds will automatically transfer to your checking account up to your available savings account balance to cover the transaction.
  • Line of Credit - An open-ended loan that serves as a backup for your checking account, so when funds are not available to clear a check or debit card withdrawal, funds will automatically advance up to your available credit limit. You can pay this back in monthly installments or all at once(interest accrues on this option). Qualification required.
  • Member Privilege - A service that covers your transactions in your checking account when you have insufficient funds. There is a $500 credit limit for this service, and a $30 fee for each item paid by Member Privilege. You will be eligible to add this service after you meet certain qualifications

Money Market Accounts

Attractive dividend rates make our Money Market accounts a preferred alternative to standard checking accounts. Your Money Market account has a few more restrictions than a regular checking account, but it earns higher dividends. A Money Market account offers more flexibility than a Share Certificate as you can withdraw your funds without a penalty.

Signature FCU Money Market accounts always offer:

  • A consistent, competitive rate - dividends are tiered based on your balance
  • Access to your money without an early withdrawal penalty
  • Six withdrawals per month
  • 50 FREE standard checks each year

Share Certificates

Share Certificates (similar to Certificates of Deposit at traditional banks) offer a higher dividend rate than a regular Savings account. A certificate is an attractive way to build up savings, and you can choose your term.

You can elect to transfer your dividends out each month or re-invest them in your certificate to maximize the earning potential. At the time of maturity, you can withdraw a portion or all of your funds or roll all or part of the funds into a new Share Certificate at the current market rates.
